Trevor and I at the range today.

As my grandson Trevor and I get closer to late November ( opening day of deer season ), I wanted Trevor to shoot the Handi Break Open single shot, 44 Mag.

The rifle has a 1.75 X 5 Burris Variable on it, just about ideal for the deep woods hunting we'll be doing this fall. Today was Trevor's 1st day to shoot the 44 Mag. ( I think when he looked at the round that it got the " bluff " on him ).

At any rate, he shot 10 consecutive rounds at 50 yards. For his 1st time to fire the rifle, I thought he did OK. More shooting and load development with this bullet should tighten things up some.

By the way, HE IS LOVING IT ! ! !

Ben,
You are teaching that boy a lot! He sure does very well and you can see he is enjoying it!
You have to be very proud of him. Good work.
So He is going out for Deer with Grampa this year?

Great pics! You can tell he’s really into what he’s doing.
I hope he gets a deer right off, if he gets the chance to go.
He’s certainly capable of getting the job done right.

That is dead deer accurate. He is in good shape for the season. Just keep him warm and dry

We are in a shooting house.
The wind won't be a problem.
Temperature, yes, that will be a problem.

I spent many hundreds on clothes for my daughter. She has a hell of a nice pair of Gore-Tex insulated Danner boots. They still fit her after 12 years, thankfully.

That is exactly what I was going to post.
Good shooting Trevor and good coaching Ben. I envy you, one can't find anything better to spend your time doing.

Poor Trevor! Darn grandpa, dragging him off the range by the ear. :sigh:

But seriously, he is lucky to have you.

Seriously, if his generation doesn't appreciate and have a valid need for firearms in their lives and if govt. ever tries to take that right away, they will have no reason to defend or fight for the right to keep and bear arms. If it isn't dear to your heart, you won't do very much to defend it..........

We should all be trying to get young people interested in the shooting sports.

I probably couldn't afford you.
Hamburgers, cokes, ammo, new rifles, new handguns, etc.
Nope, I doubt I could afford it.
