Tulsa show

Anyone planning to be at the Tulsa show in April?

Shoot I don't even make it to the small local shows any more.

I pretty much have all I need, plus a few "want" items, so I'm safer staying home. Looking back over the years, I can see a trend of having not really needing anything until I caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye on someone else's table.

I do miss the visiting though.

This show is huge. The people watching is great. Get to see lots of stuff you don’t see anywhere else.
We willl likely spend 4-6 hours there and be beat when we leave without having seen half of the tables.
I am fortunate to have a wife who is willing to tag along

She doesn't "tag". She participates. Remember, I've seen her at a number of gun shows.

Lucky dog....:)

I used to go to all the shows I could reach easily, work permitting.
The nature of the shows changed a lot and they are now mostly retailers setting up big tables and running the store out of the show. The collectors are still there but they aren't really selling as much as they are showing. And the non-gun stuff is all over the place.

I'm stuck in Commiefornia and won't get back to Oklahoma until mid April. Sad I'll miss the show!

I am thinking about going to the Wells, MN gunshow this Saturday. It kind of depends on road conditions. They just got a pretty good blizzard, I-90 was shut down for a while.

The show is nothing like Tulsa, it's just a regular size show, but is a good one. It is near MN and IA border and is kind of a notorious show, because it's held in a public school and they have good eats. Also, besides lots of private collectors/sellers, there is some fleamarket/antique type stuff there and a few coin dealers too. I think it's big enough to have all that, but I have heard grumblings about there shouldn't be antique store junk there, but if there is enough gun dealers with enough good stuff, I think it's nice to have some other stuff to look at, as well. I bought my second Griswold cast Iron pan there for $5, many years ago. The show is a good benefit for the Wells gun club, lots of Club member volunteers work it, hence the good eats, I recall seeing 15+ people working the food booth.

If you scroll to the bottom of this link, you'll see some reviews. There is a theme, all the positive reviews mention food. All the negative reviews mention too crowded, not enough parking, and too much flea market junk ...To me, those are all testaments to it being a great show if so many people want to go to a small farming town in the middle of nowhere.
