The Local Farm Store (Runnings) has the Tisas on sale for $299 this week.
I'm thinking I'm goin to visit the store today.
I was just in Runnings the other day. Wasn't paying real close attention, but they had some stuff in the $400 area in that store. Being NY that may be part of it.

Ha! I was wrong! Just looked at their flyer and they sure enough advertise the Tisas for $299- even in NY!!!! Well crap. Now I feel like I should buy one so I can join Club Mitty!!!

I picked up a Tisas Carry (Commander) model earlier this year for around $400 and it’s got to be one of the best firearm buy on the market. All forged, tight fit, accurate, and dependable. Being all steel it’s quite a bit heavier than my carry Springfield RO Compact, so it’s my range gun. Tisas now offers quite a few variations of the 1911. It’s an excellent buy.

Considering the hoops you have to go through these days to buy a handgun in NYS, well it sure puts a damper on things. Having to physically travel from the store, to the court house and then probably wait a few days, or weeks!, to get approval/the addition to permit paperwork and then travel back to the store, about 80 miles each way...discouraging at the least.

Bret, even for a retired patrolman?
HAR!!!! You are KIDDING, right?!!! Doesn't make a teeny, tiny little bit of difference. And honestly, that's the way it should be. What would make sense is to have some sort of ability to add a gun to your permit from the dealers. It's all done by computer anyway. That wouldn't advance the agenda in play though, so it'll never happen.

That is why I have to have mental health department background check to by a firearm in WA. As does everyone else!

I love my new Girsan. 5 inch.
It has a way better fit finish, and smoother edges, then any RIA I had looked at. However the RIA had a bit less play in the trigger. And way better grips for the comparable one. But both just as crispon the trigger.
Sights are almost Identical. They both are a one off cut. Sights similar to Novac.
The RIA model was $625 The Girsan Was $435. Almost Identical. Accept for the grips and the trigger slack. Which by the way, I noticed no difference when shooting.
There is a review posted on Rumble with a link in the other thread.
EAA has never let me down. And Some of the exclusive Girsan's have Lifetime Warranties. Mine does. EAA is a good solid established importer that stands by their products.
The $300 Tisas had a rougher slide, and welded on tiny sights. That is what sold me off on those. But if you can deal with that, then ok . However I checked out a Tisa that was very comparable to the Girsan for $525.

Aim Surplus currently has the Duty model like mine on sale for $400, it only comes with one mag and probably doesn't come with the hard case like mine did but I can vouch for that. Regardless, if you're looking into getting into a 1911 and you're on a limited budget, I don't think you can go wrong. I've had a great experience with mine so far.

Ye that is the one I saw for $525!
Great deal ! Aim surplus is a great company to deal with too. I have used them for parts many times over the years.
They are right here in Ohio too. They actually have a brick and mortar outlet store here. Very knowledgeable and front people.
Plus you get a really cool  sticker with every purchase to decorate your gun carbinate with.
