Or maybe not, 8-9 years ago I bought a 7 1/2" BH 44 mag that was a MN retired sheriff's carry gun.

I cannot imagine trying to tote a 7.5" Blackhawk around as a duty gun! Just strap a 12 ga to your leg and be done with it!

I've wondered about that Bret, I guess as the Sherriff he probably spent most of his time in an office not out on patrol. Dunno really but the condition of it is holstered a lot fired very little.

I got a 45 Colts 7.5 BH like that , lots of holster time but not much shooting . A bicentennial example . It took a little fussing but like all the others it shoots great . It had a tight throat , but that was easy to fix .

It's not walking around with a 7 1/2" hogleg strapped to your side. It's trying to drive for 8-12 hours a day wit the holster shoving the butt into your ribs! Rural police work is DRIVING, lots and lots and lots of driving and your office is your car. A bad holster can make that a really bad experience. Maybe he carried it in a shoulder holster or cross draw, but they have issues of their own. Well, no one would say he was under gunned.
