We have gone from 16" snow to -28 (actual) with forecast to be 34 tomorrow, in a week Went to town today and spent $1134.00 on a snowblower to clean up what the skid steer couldn't get. Have lots of folks coming in for my Dads memorial or I'd have let it sit awhile longer. Had to clear extra room for parking. Slush is terrible on the lakes.

Rally - I am only an hour from Ben (North, but doesn't matter). IF your Buddy would like to sell a couple of those Beaver pelts, I would be VERY interested! I use the fur to tie flies with! I will send you a PM with my contact info. Feel free to share it with him! And Thanx!

that under fur makes the best dubbing, and it doesn't even have to be top shelf stuff.

It used to be even better straight off the beaver, with the natural oils still on it because it would float forever. Way better than wool. Then somebody invented silicone dressing and if you use that it doesn't matter if it's been tanned.

Might try some tanned otter pieces for dubbing. Otter have 750,000 hairs per square inch and beaver are around 450,000 hairs per square inch. Sea otter (if legal) are 1.2 million hairs per square inch. Beaver oil is plentiful, I have over a gallon now if you need some.
