30 BR (.308x1.5") and 30BRX (7.62x41mm) are most commonly seen in Benchrest rifles.
all depends on what they can find at their local gunstore some times! And believe me. Starline has my vote for being the top-quality for American-made brass although they do make 308Win now as well. I'm praying they start making 30-40Krag or 303 British soon also. Thanks, Bruce.
That looks like the best possibility.
Strange that the shooter would use brand new Starline 8 mm Mauser brass, though, given the more common and inexpensive .30-06 and .308 Winchester.
If I could find a good machinist willing to do some barrel work on a new 8mm barrel, I would not have a 2nd thought to build another AR15 upper in 7.9x337,92x33 Kurz? Someone fed their Sturmgewehr, maybe, using reformed cases?
Allen was a the one who mentioned the 38-45 ACP.You did mention 38-45ACP earlier. Here is a picture of one my my 38-45ACP cases with a 115gr Winchester Silvertip HP for a comparison to your memory. And yes, I do like using the cartridge in my 1911...
