this is real high on the list for cast bullet slinging too.
it says you shouldn't be able to shoot cast all over it when I set it on the bench, and when the guy next to me sees me putting lead in there they usually snicker or roll their eyes.
then I blow their targets all over the ground with the honkin muzzle brake and 45-46grs of powder in the 308 case and they stop.

The HP is a 70's vintage, bought new. Second handgun purchase, the Python was the first. It's had work done on it, over the years.

I'm a southpaw, so I had a Cylinder & Slide ambi safety installed. Replace the fragile adjustable rear sight, with a Millet, after noticing it was bent. Master Gunsmith Frank Paris, who specialized in Pythons and HP's did the hard chrome and removed the magazine disconnect to get a decent trigger pull.

The HP was my house gun, for many years, when I lived in Detroit. That's the reason for the Crimson Trace Laser Grips.

Started loading cast for it, about the same time I did the Python.

My first casting was done for a handgun--32 S&W Long. In 1981, component bullets for 32 caliber wheelguns were largely non-existent, and I wanted to load affordably. More moulds followeed soon thereafter, in 38/357 and 45 ACP calibers.

30/30 rifle followed before long. THAT CALIBER hooked me on castings for rifles, permanently. The rest, as they say, is history.
