MONEY FALLING FROM THE SKY!!!!!!

Have had .2" of rain last night and today. First measurable rain since May 4 and much needed after the weeks of 100* plus. But it is not enough to wash out the smoke in the air, so still dealing with that issue.

T-storms and 20 minutes of DRENCHING rain here Thursday. Today was 103* and humid as Sheol, we just stayed indoors in the A/C. The clouds boiled up again this afternoon, but no rain seen. Sultry all darn day. Hot and humid on Saturday is the forecast.

The middle of September is fast approaching and the June gloom has not disappeared. To add to the gloominess, the last five or six mornings have been foggy. Sometime round noon or 1300 the sun finally makes its lazy appearance. Highs remain in the high 60s to low 70s -- quite comfortable.

No rain for the last six months, maybe even seven, and historically we won't see any till Halloween, give or take a week or two. Acorns are falling with more regularity and in higher numbers, which bodes well for Winter '22.

Well they were predicting snow for next weekend, but, now they’ve changed there collective mind.
Today looks like the last day to hit 60*, 50* till Saturday then mid 40* for the high. After Saturday night time temps in the 20* range. Winters coming. Leaves have changed a while back and about half have fallen already. A good windy day will cure the other half.
Tomorrow’s high 59 and sunny. Pretty nice fall so far.

We are beginning to see a fall pattern, still mid 80's during the day but night time lows dropping into the 50's
Leaves on the maple out front just starting to turn a bit.

Kind of an autumnal pattern going on here now, too. The summer blast-furnace bit has relented (for now), and though temps hit the mid-90s in mid-afternoon we aren't running the A/C until 2:30 P.M., and it goes off by 6 P.M. 89* right now, and it is cool enough at night that we started turning the overhead fan off as we sleep.

The weather guessers said that, sometime after 2300 last night, there'd be an 80% chance that it wouldn't rain. They were right. That's the first time in the past seven months that they've made any kind of rain guess.

Thought I woke up on a different planet -- the sun was out, shadows were black and distinct, and the sky was blue and cloudless. Autumn is almost official. Can't wait for October.

Finally, some much need rain. Haven't had any since the 5th of the month. Been a hot, dry summer. Yesterday, it made it to 90 degrees.

Yep, were getting showered here, with a bit of a lightshow to boot. Have to go out in it in a few minutes and haul the trash out to the road.

After a rather mild weather week, it appears to be warming up a bit today and tomorrow. We haven't run the A/C much at all, which is welcome. Heat warnings are issued, for 95*-105* through Wednesday. Angelenos are a weak-sistered bunch of sissy-la-las.

Drove 300 miles into a 20-knot pre-front Gulf headwind last night, drove back this afternoon directly into the front itself, 25+ knots from 320⁰. Figures. At least my company is buying the fuel and it's about 30⁰F cooler than this time yesterday.
