California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
Eighty-eight inside the motorhome, this afternoon, as we were getting situated for a five-nighter. The air conditioner got it cooled down to a comfortable level and stayed on till 1830. The two-day heatwave is scheduled to subside tomorrow, with following highs in the med to high 70s.

Absolutely still and quiet (except for my tinnitus), and peaceful pre-Autumnal evening.

We got .57" of rainfall on Tues. Sadly, it doesn't look like we'll see any more rain for at least a couple of weeks.
Went from 12" annual rainfall in SoCal to 40+ inches here in N. AR. I've already gotten spoiled not worrying about drought here.
Love getting the rain and love seeing our lake level up.

North Central Arkansas
Got 6/10" here. Norfork Lake level is actually the lowest I've seen, since moving here, almost ten years ago. In the Spring we lost half the parking in the marina's lot, due to high water. Walkway extensions, to the floating docks, had to be added. Pretty much a yearly occurrence. Usually, back to somewhat normal by Fall. This year, the walkway extensions were removed in early August and parking was restored............due to lack of precipitation this Summer.

Flood stage of the lake is 578 feet. Normal pool is 550 feet. Currently, were just a couple of feet above normal pool.................last time Cindy checked.

I don't use a 15 day guess. If they don't know what it's gonna do tomorrow how are they gonna have a clue what it will do 15 days from now.

Well it looks like today and tomorrow are the last days predicted to be just over 40*. 30’s and the slide into sub arctic winter till next April, unless we get a chinook.
Supposed to snow Friday but if it does maybe it won’t stay just yet.

Reminds me of the Charles M. Russell painting of the starving and freezing steer belly deep in snow. Title of that painting is "Waiting for a Chinook".

Well supposed to snow about 2” to 4” tonight through Saturday morning. Looks like this may stay the winter. It’s starting.
Of course I used a trencher to dig a line out of the cabin for a gray water drain. Hope to get it completed today.

Time to get out of Dodge, eh John?

December 13th to Seattle to hangout with kids and grandkids in the soggy rainy northwest. Then in January head south to Southern California for a short stay then Arizona. That will warm us up and dry us out.
Love the spring and fall here, 1 month of each is enough anymore, but summer here is hard to beat period.

Yesterday's high was 78 and 10 degrees cooler than Tuesday's.

This morning, the hilltop campgrounds are socked in. La Laguna no es Seca, and when in that condition morning fog is to be expected.
Duke and I were out at 0400 and the quiet and solitude were inviting.

Todays high 53* and rain. We have got over 3.5" of rain in the past 2 days. Sporadic street floodings. Our sewer systems aren't built to take that. The deluge is supposed to end today.

90* here right now (2:45 P.M.), down almost 10* from yesterday, which was humid and mizzable. Today is not so bad. We had huge smoke clouds aloft first thing this morning, but no local fires under way--this is smoke blow-over from the fires up north, thanks loads. That's what the Weather Service in San Diego says, anyway.

44 and 66 for today's low and high. Clear and light wind out of the NW. Nice day to get things done.

Uncommon weather this morning, 100% humidity at 0630. We are in the last week of commercial irrigation water so everyone is using all they can get at night, trying to store something for the winter in the soil. Plus a cloudy day yesterday with winds coming up the Columbia River Gorge right off the ocean. High was 80* yesterday and low was 42* this morning. We actually had dew on the ground, very uncommon here.
