Didn't get that much rain, at my place, 20 minutes away. Half inch during the day. Another 1.3 inches during the early evening and a half inch, overnight. Running total is 2.3 inches. More rain expected this afternoon.gloomy rainy-smiley-emoticon.gif

Today is suppose to be less than 90, first time in 6 weeks. We are all waiting for the fall rains to dampen down the fires and cool off some.

We woke up to thunder rembling at 6:35 A.M. this morning. It has been cloudy all day so far, with spates of rain off and on. According to the weather guessers, we are on the edge of a hurricane located over Baja California. This promises rain and winds from today (Thurs. 9/8) until Sunday (9/11). The usual warnings about mudslides in burn areas are made, and with two major fires locally some substantial rain would help immensely. It's 94* right now and quite humid.

Just one beautiful day here after another. Dawn temps around 58° day time high in the upper 70's to 80° . Partly cloudy and a mild breeze to cool work sweat.

The weather guessers have guessed we have a 50% chance of not getting a light rain, from the remnants of that Gulf of Mexico storm, starting at 9 a. m.

We are prepared and excited that we have a 50% chance of getting a light rain.

Come on light rain!

I slept in this morning, got up at 5:30 and it was still dark so I lit my WT Kirkman #2 oil lantern for the mood and had some coffee while the world slowly woke up. It's been off and on light the med. rain all day and will continue until late Sunday night. Taking a lazy day around the house today and doing what I like and let everyone else deal with things. Think I'm going to head out to the shop and play with my 308 to 300 Sav. cutoff jig for my chop saw that just came in the mail.

Today (9/10) is very pleasant--78* at 11:30 A.M. The house is opened up, and was all night. EVERYBODY slept late today, likely due to cooler air and rainfall pattering. Hopefully the rain and humidity will help with the two monster fires under way.

Spectacular day on the lake today. Of course, pulled my boat and docks. But my 3 cousins are up here and I'm happy that they have a great weekend. The oldest's boat is still in the water. His brother has stage 4 cancer so I hope the summer lasts well into November for him. They own the camp together. The other cousin is from a different uncle. He just came to visit. I'm sure they are out in the boat as I type this.

Except for the few dozen itty-bitty drops on the deck, our expectations were for nought.

Pretty healthy afternoon rain squall just started about 10 minutes ago. This has been the pattern since Thursday--much cooler temps, high humidity, and late-day rains. The tow working fires locally have layed down somewhat due to the moisture, even with the weird winds blowing around.

Mercury hit 93 degrees, today. Thirty seven percent humidity. Haven't had any rain since the second of the month. Extended forecast has little to none. Guessers have us in the upper 90's for the next three days, with increasing humidity. Archery season opens this coming Saturday but I doubt I'll go out, due to the warm temperatures.

Fall is arriving; had 0.1" of rain this morning, the first measurable amount in 92 days. Temperature was nice 44* this morning and topped out at 72*. Turned the heat pump on to heat the kitchen this morning and made coffee. Maybe now the fires will settle down and clear the smoke out of the air.

I don't remember it ever raining in September, but the rain frog reads 1/8". The last measurable rain was some time in February. We got over 7 1/2" in December, but only 3" in January and February.

I think it starts at Vancouver Island, BC, and works its way south. We get half our yearly rain between Oct 15th and Dec 1st. Then it is snow from then on.

56° and pretty dense fog this morning. Three friends and I shot off and on Friday, Saturday, and yesterday and mostly had good weather. Rained Saturday night while we were asleep.

Woke to the sound of rain on the roof and the occasional boom of thunder. It has been dry here for a couple of weeks......peaceful sound. I rolled over and slept for a couple of more hours.
