What is your weather today?

The arctic cold is predicted to set in this weekend, and last for a week.
I hope a few of those cold days get above 0ºF
The woodstove just can't keep up if it's below zero at night and Daytime too.

To add insult to injury, we lost power at 11:15 PM, last night. Whole house propane generator running, still. Guessers saying on and off light snow/showers till 9 AM.

Guess what I'll be doing all day?

Our power hung in there until 2:15 AM. Generator has been running since then. Apparently much of North Central AR is without power.

Not here, power went out 4 times briefly between 8 and 8:30 last night, hasn't been out since.

Our power came back on for 10 minutes around 9 AM. Still not back in service. :sigh: Been outside cleaning the back steps (emergency exit from the MB) and plowing the gravel drive. It's wet and heavy. The Polaris Ranger SxS will only handle so much of that, at a swipe. It's back and forth, uphill, plow width at a time. Got up to the gate, done. After lunch/dinner (baked Salmon, baked taters & coleslaw) will finish plowing the level surface to the highway.

Having somewhat rare thunderstorms here right now. Normally I am in the mountain villages today. I would be in a serious issue if I was up there.
Going to be some major flooding in the poor neighborhoods if this keeps up.

Called the coop cause they said power has been restored. Yeah, for ten minutes. Said it might be as long as the weekend before they get to it.cursing.gif

Anyway, plowing done. Snapped the winch cable at the hook, near the mail box. Had to walk back to house, get tools and cable clamp to jury rig, to finish.

The coop is pulling in crews from out of state. Not surprised that it may take several days. Not at all happy, but not surprised.
Doubt that I'll get propane in the foreseeable future for what I paid last Aug.

Better than our gasoline. Paid $2.99 at Costco on December 27th. Yesterday filled up at Costco $3.39. The "Carbon Tax" in WA that took place January 2nd, was not supposed to increase gasoline taxes. Right.

Aftermath, of the snow Armageddon.

Cindy's Crepe Myrtle, we had planted ten years ago. One of the main branches (far right, without the snow) broke off. :(
