What is your weather today?

Currently Sunny and 69*F in beautiful downtown Wyandotte.......(sorry a sarcastic radio DJ's description of things "Downriver" in SE Michigan.)

The City of Wyandotte PD will forever be mocked after their dispatcher once broadcast over an open channel, heard throughout all 9 "Downriver" communities, with a distinct Polish accent: "Wyandotte cars roll upa your windows, its raining".

Well it's 9:05 am. Sunrise is at 9:33 today. Currently -15 below with a high of -11 projected. Going to stay in the low single digit minis column for day time temps and just a little colder at night for the next week. Lots of night for the next couple of months.

Rained .66 inches yesterday and .09 inches today so far. Most we have had since March, and we are enjoying it, just like money falling out of the sky. Live at 1200 feet and it has all been rain, but the 3600' ridge behind me got snow yesterday, and the 7000' ridge west of that got about 3 feet of snow. Winter is on the way.

figured as much, it broke 35 today and started melting some of the snow.
looks like it was maybe just the warm up before the next storm.

They said there are three storm fronts on the gulf of Alaska swirling down the Pacific. As long as the jet stream stays to the north of the Columbia, it will be rainy and warm here. Fiver, don't know if you are going to get rain or snow in ID.

We have had snow on the ground 2 times ---at 6 in or so & melted.
Usualy when we get the first snow--it is the last that meltes in the spring----not this snow & melt thingy we have this year.
I don't mind so much but I would like to go ice fishin soon.
been in the uper 30's & 40's around here might just go to the pier & fish the steelhead again.

A crisp 39, at 7 a.m. Now, there is a clear blue and sunny sky, not a leaf stirring, and scheduled high of 64. A typical local Fall day and my favorite time of year.

462, beautiful here also. 28 this morning with low ground fog and few high clouds. At noon 45 and bright sunshine and very light breeze. Perfect wool shirt weather to put up Christmas decorations.

Plus 10 at 5:AM, 0* by 7:AM, expected to be around zero for next couple of days. 4 hours and 44 minutes of daylight today.
Tried to use the chronograph yesterday, but even with clear skies would not read out. We are Just over the crest on the northwest slope that we don't get direct sunlight back until late January early February. Guess I need to use an alternative light source.

Well sunset clicked into the 2 o'clock hour today. 4 hours a 37 minutes of daylight today. Twenty more days till the shortest day, which means January 10th before we are back to were we are today at 4 hours and 37 minutes.
On the iPhone screen, in December sunrise and sunset are on the same screen. In June just the opposite is true, sunset and sunrise are on the same screen.

Have had temps in the low 40s g/t and winds gusting to 30+ MPH for the last 2 days.
Almost no wind and a pleasant 23 degrees with clear blue sky at 7 AM this morning when I hauled the trash out to the road.

we are running along about where John is, just with more sunlight.

a little snow come through last night, and then a break with a high pressure system sucking the heat out of the area.
the valleys are saying it's cold but they are just getting into the weather we been having all of November.
it sure flipped a switch and we went straight from fall to winter overnight [literally 50 one day and 20 the next] and it hasn't even tried getting above 25 or so for a month now.

:headscratch:I find nothing pleasant about 23 degrees, wind or no wind. The short time I as out, walking Bella, I could feel the difference in both of my replaced knees, immediately. :sigh:

Really thought that the one thing I would miss from Kaliforniastan would be the weather. Wrong again! I'm finding that with the exception of the arthritis in my hands, I really don't mind the sub-freezing temps. If I had to shovel snow? No thanks.
So far, the only thing we really miss is Costco; Walmart just doesn't come close.

I don't mind the temps as long as there isn't any wind though it sure did get cold early here this year.. I too miss Costco along with the ASR/LASC range, everything else in CA can/should stay right there right where I left it.

Warm today, low 30's high 20's. Roads will be crap. Hard pack will be slick as can be, turning to clear ice. Zero is a nice road condition temp.

"sub-freezing temps" is great weather

My first real vacation after I started working my first real job out of college, was a 3 day Ski trip (downhill snow skiing at Lutsen Resort on the North shore of Lake Superior) in January.

The first day, Monday, I arrive and it's -20ºF and sunny.
I was 21 and not phased by the cold, the skiing was great and there were plenty other people skiing...apparently hold overs from the weekend?

Tuesday, I awake and go to the ski lodge and there is almost nobody there. The bartender said Tuesdays and Wednesdays are usually slow, but are extra slow during a cold snap. The High that day was -25. The skiiing was awesome, it was like I had the place to myself.

Wednesday, the High was -30 and was breezy compared to the two previous days. I had a good scarf, but it would ice up in one run down the hill. So I had to thaw out in the lodge after every run. I still had a blast.
