A local, aging fellow was cleaning out his firearms, as he did not want to burden his unlicensed kids in dealing with his estate later on. I think I scored my best buys yet. An M-1 Garand in 30-06 made by Beretta for the Danish troops, and a deactivated Mark II Sten gun. He wouldn't take more money for them, just happy to see them appreciated and used by someone who would enjoy them. I came home with four in total.....sometimes being in the right place at the right time just works. Am I ever pumped. Can't wait to dig into them and learn a bit more about them.

I'm lost.
unlicensed children?
how much does it cost to be licensed as a child, and where do I sign up?
burden them with an 8 lb rifle?
how much room in the closet could it take up?

Fiver....licensing here in Canada is a big deal, a safety course, a firearms licensing course and then the license. All in all about $320 and about a week or more of classes. And if you want restricted ( handguns and semi auto " assault rifles" add more classes and more money to that. Grateful that I was able to acquire those two, and not see them destroyed.

ah all this time and I never put you in Canada.
I kind of figured a FOID like in Illinois or some kind of FFL transfer thing like in California.
I don't think anything of giving a gun to someone, other than it's a present just like a Tonka truck, or a nice shirt.

Me too Fiver......seems everyone gets their sh*t in a knot when a gun is involved....always wondered how it was any different than a knife or a bow or a toaster oven.....LOL
