WTB 300 Win Mag small base dies

A buddy at work is just getting into reloading. His hunting rifle is a Browning B.A.R. Like everything else dies are hard to find. Might anyone have a set they are willing to part with?
Thanks a lot.

I've only used standard sizing dies in the Garand, even after it was re-barreled. But, you never know.

Might try Huntington Dies.

Small base dies still don't address the issue of inadequate case sizing immediately in front of the belt. That kills more belted brass than anything else. I'd suggest a separate body of the type sold by Larry Willis to make the brass live a long, happy life.

Then use your choice of std sizing dies for the neck and shoulder.

Hey. Thanks for the info.
I have never loaded for a belted cartridge. And like I said, my buddy is new to reloading. Thanks for the heads up.

that's the stuff.

it's quite common for brass from one belted mag to not fit another rifle even if it's full length resized.

I know a lot of guy's that just neck size, ignore the belt and HS off the shoulder to avoid the case stretch above the belt.
kinda treating them like a 303.

I don't know.
I do my AR's like that every other time,,, but??? [shrug]

all I know is if I was gonna size a 300wm full length every time and it was in a semi auto I'd not be looking at more than 2 [or maybe 3 loads at most] before I'd be too worried the case would separate.

My Dad had a Rem 760 pump in 270 Win.
We had to use .270 Win small base dies or he would get a fired case hang up on every third or fourth shot. Not bad, just enough to make us stop and tap the case out from the muzzle with an oak dowel.
Chamber was clean, with no issues and not a max load.
I still don't know why they hang up, but small base dies fixed it, without affecting accuracy.

All his brass is from his rifle. You think std dies will work?
Perhaps for a couple of loadings. That area in front of the belt can be a real issue for some. Where's Ian with "it doesn't matter until it does"?

Agree with fiver. Use regular dies, don’t push the shoulder back too far, and plan on 3 reloads tops.
Push the shoulder back too much and the case above the belt gets thin really fast.
All of that said, how much does he plan to shoot the rifle? Most 300 Win Mags aren’t going to be fired hundreds of times a year so 100 cases will last a while.

This guy only pulls the trigger on that rifle when there is hair in the crosshairs.
