Yeah, I've looked at those sources and I was hoping a member might have a drop or two that they would sell.

Gary. .750" is the smallest brass round stock we carry. Will this work? If not I can have it turned down to .625"

Here is the only brass I could find in my scrap bin. It's 9/16" hex, two pieces are about 2-3/8" long, two pieces are about 1-5/8" long. If you want them you can have them for the postage. Sorry, best I can do.

Fantastic Keith and Waco; I'll gladly pay for the Brass and shipping and those by the ruler will work perfectly Keith. Waco; .750 WILL also work. I have a lathe and need more practice in cutting tapers.
Thank you both for the offers and I'll message you my address.

Brass in mail to you. Don't worry about postage, my business mailed a lot of "promotional items" today. Clerk said expect arrival Monday. Good luck with what you are planning to do.

this is one of those times a kiln type thing and some wet sand would come in handy.

A machinist gun buddy at work is turning your brass down for you. I should have the four pieces of .625" @ 3" ready tomorrow or early next week.

Wow!! That really wasn't necessary, I have a Lathe and could have done that myself. BUT, thanks a ton. You and Keith have made my day.
BTW, looking forward to your videos.

I wish I had more scrap from cutting more brass. It's our 2nd fav material to cut. The apprentice is running some stainless steel bolts on the lathe and once again the air is filled with muttered Navy curses regarding the ancestry of the person who invented SS, the person who made the defective carbides that wear out too soon the person who delivered the material, the .... You get the picture.

Viva brass!
