WTB - Shell holder - 45 Auto Rim

Lee makes one (#13) and in looking through the listing of shellholder applications, it's only used for the 45 auto rim. I'll check and see if I have one.

That's an RCBS #8 shell holder and they aren't very common.

You didn't hear this from me but........ ;) .......You can open up a RCBS #20 shell holder (45 Colt) with a worn down Dremel Cut-Off wheel. You only need to open up the slot slightly for the needed width. To allow for the greater thickness of the 45 Auto Rim, take the material off the upper portion of the "slot" in the shell holder so that the base will remain square.

Many thanks Ric.
Looks like he has taken care of my needs for a shell holder.

Does Starline have the 45 AR in stock? I bought my lot (250) about a year ago, before the most recent drought hit. They did send 500 9mm cases about a week after I ordered them; those landed about 10 days ago. I would just get in line on their back-order list if they aren't in stock.

ETA--The 357 Magnum brass I ordered at the same time I ordered the 9mm arrived today. 20 days from order to delivery, back-ordered. Given the ongoing components & ammo drought, I am quite happy.

the AR is only one that uses that shell holder. And LGS had some AR ammo loaded in Starline cases, so I went that route instead of buying 500 AR cases I would prob never use.

Ben - are you planning on loading 230ish or do you have a heavier 250ish for the AR? I would like to try that. I DO have a Saeco 453 mold that I intend to shoot in my ACPs and AR/1917.

The 454424 , neither the round groove Lyman nor the NOE version 250s shot well in the S&W 1917 I had , they were great in the Colt . The 452-255 Lee was good in them loaded out to the first lube groove using the light end of Speer jacketed 260 data . My 452-255 casts 265 gr .

I have 230 molds yet to cast with. I prefer my H&G 50 clone for all the 1911s. I bought 1500 230 RNs for something like $90 when I was too busy to cast. 1911s ain't fond of them. The 1917 is, and put the ACP cylinder in the Ruger NM Flattop to see what it thinks.
