I know one of the accuracy loads,in my single six,,is rcbs 98swc,and 3.5 -hp38.when i got my 1894cl marlin,,i tried 3.5 grs hp38,in it,,,super accurate!
Interesting- I use the same load with the same result in my Ruger SSM. Shoots so well I don’t try anything else.

Hard learning fact at the range today. Loading the RCBS #32-98 FN bullet COAL 1.630". Yes, long for cylinder in both Colt PPS and S&W M&P. yes FILLS the cylinder in both. But (eyeball) didn't think it was longer than cylinder. In the Colt, it is not/cycles/rotates fine. In the Smith, not so much, or rather TOO much! Bullet was seated to full depth of crimp groove and Lee FCD crimped. Nose hung on the cylinder in the Smith. Pearce lists similar bullet at COAL of 1.618". guess that is the absolute max! Oh well - easy fix...

RCBS is not a 32/20 bullet either in design or application. The best is Lyman 311316, with or without gas check, and crimped in the groove. FWIW

Thanx Ric/Bret! So... guess I need to look for a 311316 since I have two 32-20 revolvers and would really like one in a SA revolver...

I have a NOE 32 115 gr. I have it listed as a 31108 clone. Is it close to the 311316/work as well (if you know)?

The 311008 is the black powder bullet with no crimp groove, made to seat on the powder charge. The 311316 has a crimp groove in the right place for the case neck. If not crimped '008 is hard to use in a tube magazine. Revolvers you can just crimp over the ogive to stop bullet from going forward.

OK Ric - I'll play - fwiw! lmao! What the he!! IS the RCBS #32-98 FN fit for?!?! Since I still have 400ish of them, AND a mold! And TIA!!!
It was designed for the 32 H&R magnum case. The crimp groove pushes the nose of the bullet past the end of the cylinder of S&W and Colt revolvers. It is also too long for the Winchester 92 rifle.

So they can work if you push the bullet down and crimp over the front shoulder, but not what it was made for (Ruger single six).

Well once again I will write the Dan Wesson Revolvers out shine all others due to the fine way we can adjust barrel gap.
All ours shoot the best when BG is set at .002 or less. I run our Supermags at .0015. Our 41 Mag was built so nice it stays set at .001.
Of course all this is possible due to the DW plant getting barrels in line and cylinders indexed.

Did have one model 15-2 that would drag the cylinder at .003 but DW fixed it for free as it was working with a "bent crane".

The fun part is to demonstrate to revolver shooters how barrel gap affects velocity and can change accuracy.

In the crimp groove, the 98 rcbs feeds like goose poop, threw my 1894cl marlin.

My only .32 mold I have for my Ruger single six is an Arsenal copy of the RCBS 98gr. Pretty accurate little bullet.

Bought this little Ruger from a buddy who thinks fishing is more important than his firearms. It’s been awhile but oh what a sweet deal it was.
All steel Ruger Single Six 32 H&R Mag with Bisley grip frame. Five cavity Arsenal mold(RCBS 98gr SWC copy), 500 pieces of new Starline brass, and a set of Carbide RCBS dies. He replaced both front and rear sights.
Total cost to me was $600 ;)

THANX Ric!!!!!

And, Well! Just CRAP! Figures/my luck. And with 3x 32-20s and wanting another in SA, I am sure I won't spend the nutzo coin on a 32 Mag... Plus, my three currents are an old Colt PPS, the S&W HE and Browning 53, so... the cast and mold of the RCBS will go on the block.

Good news is, obssd1958 is helping out with a 311316! So it ain't ALL bad!

(ps: the Colt WILL cycle the cylinder with the 100 I have loaded, so not a total loss there either)
