Your thoughts on modifying a mini revolver.

I spent some time shooting an NAA Mini Master IIRC, the 4" job in 22 lr with the rubber grips. Should have bought it. It was surprisingly accurate and the sights were better than on some "real" guns. They also made one in 22 mag, that would have been an even better option. Knew a guy on the job had one of the little jobs in 22 short. Got in trouble one night and found himself on his back with his Smith underneath him and the bad guy on top trying to permanently end the issue. Got the NAA out of his pocket and as he put it, "...screwed it into his ear." BG decided giving up was a real good idea. They have their place for sure.

I agree with the idea of the strong side front pocket. A lanyard sounds about like an ankle holster- great to think about, a pain to get to when you really need it.

I never got into the bottom feeder craze. Yes, lotsa bullets is nice, but with a 357 you only need to hit them once. Maybe if we'd been going from a 38 Spec RN lead to a 9mm it would have floated better, but for rural use the 9mm was a definite step down.

I had a pocket sewn into the throat of my Wellington boots; the NAA 22 lived there. That and the spare handcuff keys I carried here & there were my "Onion Field Insurance". There were times and situations where I also carried the Colt DS.

Mom carried a NAA in her purse for over 20 years.

There are so many things I like about this forum. One of the best is all of the other old cops here, unlike the "other forum" where the cop haters rise up and spew whenever there is one of those threads that start with, "My friend said his cousin's uncle got arrested for shining deer with a gun in his pickup and all cops suck."
Reading "The Onion Field" as a new officer, had a lasting effect on my psyche. Then our agency had an officer and his date abducted and shoved in a car trunk. That had a reasonably happy ending, but still........

The folding grip option Fiver mentioned is as handy as a pocket knife. Indeed a friend of mine has been carrying one for 20 years. He calls it his "nose blower". I like lanyard rings on pistols, too.

I think he was speaking of the cell phone single shot. They also have the folding version, I got the 22lr as the 22mag is a different frame and weighs more-especially the swing out cylinder model. The originals were pretty junky, back in the 70s but the new ones are really quality.

Yeah, the cop hating threads "over there" kinda ruined it for several of us. Didn't matter how much you tried to get along, all you had to do is part your hair wrong and the wailing and gnashing of teeth started.

This is a great forum. I was told about it by Ben. Who I later spent the day with at the Tulsa gun show where the sorry sucker bought my Ruger #1 stainless 30-30 out from under me. LOL. No, Ben is a great guy and a wealth of knowledge that he freely gives and I appreciate it.

I have been a LEO for way to many years. When I ran a drug task force in the late eighties and early nineties I bought one of the NAA mini 22 magnums. After shooting at social distances I decided it was going to be a permanent piece of equipment that I carried on me at all times. I took it to a machine shop and had them weld a small stainless steel ring on the butt of it. I wore it around my neck on a shower chain every day for years. For what I was going to use it for it was perfect. I got out of narcotics and gave it to a young officer just getting into narcotics on the condition that when I saw him he better be wearing it. . I see him about once every 6 months. When he sees me coming, he runs a finger under the chain for me to see.

I kinda miss that pistola. I may have to get another one now.

It's far from ideal for self defense, but it seems like a good choice to wear as a pendant no matter how you're dressed. In the winter, I carry a g17 in a velcro holster in my jacket pocket. In the summer, I've grown to like the lc9s because it hides under a light shirt well. I figured the mini revolver would be a good addition for EDC, year round.

I wish the LC9S had a straighter trigger. They put too much curve for my hands and fingers, so
I wind up pretty much putting the finger tip on the tip of the trigger at the first half of the stroke,
and it is unpleasant. I am going to eventually see if I can heat and bend the trigger. If I can get the
bottom 1/4" or so to bend down about 20-30 degrees, I'd be happy. I may make a whole new trigger
if I have to. Nobody sells one for the LC9S Pro that I have which is different, all for the regular
LC9S.

I like the lc9s for its size and weight. The trigger is good, except for the long throw. Maybe I'm just a wimp, but I find the recoil to be a bit tiring with the narrow grip. The trade off for easy concealment is worth it for me. It's so easy to carry. If I ever (God forbid) had to use it for its intended purpose, those shortcomings wouldn't be noticed.
