I dug deep into the inner sauctum to find some bullets I wanted to test.

As I gaschecked and sized some I got thinkin'...... "These guys here are pretty darn smart on guessing molds from a bullet's picture.... Maybe I can trick them with this one; or make them do some detective work! ..................And then again.....maybe not!"

Yep, agree with Ben. However, I think it is a Mountain Mold, not Lyman.

ETA: OK, but I still think it's one of Dan's moulds.

I don't know what it is... but to me it sure looks "Flat Sided" in that picture...:)
Boy it does when you look for a flat side doesn't it? It's lighting and it must be the shape (not flat honest!) I've tried more, taken them upside down even, and they got that 'flat' light band in them! It I can get a better shot I'll post it if Ian doesn't guess it first!

I'm all outta guesses. .22 was my second guess because the gas check is riding high on one side, usually you don't see the medium and larger checks doing that very often if seated squarely, and that one looks to be very square to the base.

Ian,

Gas checks are seated square..... I'm pretty anal about that. You would think for the money Hornady expects for their gaschecks they could get a uniform skirt length?? This lot varies .003" to .004" in height on some! Worse yet even, I think there may be thickness problems in the crimp area I can't measure that could be the culprit. I guess if I want 'match' checks I'll have to make them! I shot some awful good groups with them but don't like their 'looks'!
