30-30 buck for Jeremiah

He passed 5 other deer this afternoon 2 of which were smaller bucks. To say he was primed is an understatement. He’s put in the hard yards all year practicing with his rifle and been handsomely rewarded. As a dad I couldn’t be more proud for him. 30-30 and 135 grain cast Hp

Muy boys are both full grown men now, but I sure eemember those first deer memories fondly. My oldest hadn't killed one since before he graduated high school and joined the Marine Corps in 2012 until just the other day he killed a little buck with his .30-30. Even if he's 30 now, I was still a proud Dad.

Didn't ruin any meat, either! Bury the head in your back yard up to the antlers and stick a bucket over it. Next summer dig it up and wash it off for a nice skull mount he'll have always to remember the hunt. My first one was a doe and I didn't think to save any of it besides the meat, should have at least saved the tail.

LOL...The Black Lab we had, when I was growing up, would have found that, dug it up, rolled around on that spot, chewed on the bucket, and then dragged the skull all over the yard...all in 30 minutes, LOL.

Topper 158 single shot

sweet!!! the first buck (spike) and the first doe was a 1972 Winchester m94 in 30-30. i killed alot of deer with that rifle. i still have it, tho it is now a 35/30-30 (JES Reboring) and a Williams FP aperture sight, my eyes ain't what they once were. ;)

even tho it is around 129yo, the 30-30 sure makes alot of meat.
