1680 is fast becoming my favorite powder.
It will shoot faster then 4227,or h110,,,and still not show the pressure signs.
And it shoots small groups,wide open throttle!!

When asked I always say h110/296 & 1680 will do everything for this caliber.

1680 starts where 296/110 starts ta wayne. 150 ish grains.

I wont & dont like idea of h110/296/lilgun for subs.

I have been really likjng accuracy I see with 8.5-9.7g of imr4198 & a long cast heavy bullet.

BTW, If ya would like ta try the excellent NOE 310-247 NLG bullet. Id be happy ta cast n send ya some. Coated/sized or as cast your call. Same for any member here.

What i really want,is a 125-130 Spitzer, bullet in the top half of the neck,and 2.2 oal..

This week i hope to try vv133,,and 4198.
I bet these will get to 1900fps.
I can get 22grs of h335 in the bo,,dump slow,with 12 inch drop tube.about 1800fps,,and shoot in 1 hole in the paper.the lee 155 sure does shoot splendid!!

i had Josh over to ACE cut me a 140gr. spitzer shape for the 300.

but with Jacketed 180 and 200'-ish bullets i had good luck with functioning using 4227 in the AR platform at sub speeds.

Well, scope on the CVA is fine. Alloy is the problem! Alloy cast in past has nice small holes and acceptable group, new stuff is larger in dia. Cycled 50 rnds through the henry 308W, found some that wouldn't. Shot some, did fine. Got a metal detector to find the sprinkler valves in the back yard so I can get the system fixed. Then put down some grass seed before the rain comes in. She's down at the ranch for 'gal's' weekend. Somebody got a rabbit to let loose, it wants to stay in the house. Duh.

Sounds like what im looking for.
Went looking for the rcbs 130sp....cant beleave they want 150-160 bucks,for rcbs molds now,,WOW

Cleaned the CVA today, not bad just a few speckles. 310 size doesn't leave lead ring from in front of case mouth but case neck still is dirty. Must have grabbed the wrong ingots for the pot, really soft and peak psi shouldn't be above 30k psi (pistolish psi)with the 4227 load. I use an Accurate 142C and D - PB and GCd. Pushed the PB to 2150 in 1:10 carbine with the right alloy. I have 1680 but haven't found a good load with it yet. CVA gets cast as I put IR on the carbine for night yote and hog hunting at the ranch using Vmax and FTX. Got a few SSTs but can't find them anymore.

Having alot of fun with this rifle.i realize it isnt a benchgun,but it shoots like one...except...
I get alot of first shot fliers.has to do with manually letting bolt go.dont know how to overcome this,yet.
Ive seen 1911,s act the same way.

For now,i guess if i wanted tiny group,id pump the first shot into the berm.

Reliably shoot under an inch with...
H335. 1600fps
V133. 1800fps
4227. 1900fps
1680. 2100fps

Have never had a misfeed,nor a jam!!!
