Yessir, 800-X was a PITA to use in both of my RCBS measures.
The 32 H&R Magnum is a GREAT caliber, but its SAAMI specs were limited due to the H&R revolvers it was initially chambered in. With a more robust S&W or Ruger platform, its potential can be exploited fully.
The 327 Federal (as best I can tell) is largely a "completion" of a concept enabling defensive shooters to have a 32 caliber handgun with sufficient power to be a reliable stopper on armed assailants, at the same time producing less recoil than the other capable calibers in that venue. Similar calibers have played that role in the past; 30 Mauser, 7.62 x 25 Tokarev, and 30 Luger come to mind here. All of these charge a tariff in muzzle blast for that power privilege, and it is up to the user/owner to gauge whether that volume is justified.
Though I did have some work on one homicide in which a 32 H&R Mag was the suspect weapon (a fired Hornady 85 grain JHP was found at the crime scene, we assume it was contained in the victim's shirt after transiting one of the five hits he sustained and fell free when the paramedics loaded him up for hospital transport, where he expired. Being a drug dealer is a tough career field, and its rigor multiplies when you don't pay your supplier--just sayin'). I don't consider any of my 30/32 handguns to be defensive weapons, they are toys to play with at the range or tools to use in the field for small game and varmints. The RCBS 32-98-SWC at 900 FPS is plenty of power for my needs, and doesn't drill my eardrums or set off earthquakes in fault zones.
