3D printing

How many of you use or have access to a 3D printer? If there was an area here that was just for 3D printer files would you use it?

I thought a sub forum in the Printed resources section might be a good place to post and share 3D files.

Any thoughts?

That's a neat idea, @KeithB .

I don't have one, but like other things where creativity and files are involved, the "open-source" nature among creative minds is bound to lead to innovation and progress.

If I were much less busy, I'd probably have one though. Designing, building - solving problems from overcoming stumbling blocks at inception, all the way to rethinking after actual application have been a driver for me for many years. I think the very theme which brings people to this forum engenders that kind of creativity in problem solving and this would lift some bushels off a lot of interesting lights.

I have been using mine more and more. If I was better with Fusion 360 I would do even more with it,

I just got one, but haven't even taken it out of the box yet. That is waiting for me to get done rearranging my office. I'm hoping to print some reloading die storage and such.

My grandson has made me some devices for loading pistol magazines.
He got the software somewhere on line.

Lots of free files out there for printing. I used one to make a couple racks to store G17 mags.
What made mine more useful was 3D design software. Being able to design, within reason, what I want is a big plus.

My brother has an Ender 3 he's printed quite a few things with, here are a few. Next project is universal single and double stack mag holders.

Storage racks for Lee 4 hole turret and shell holder.

I didn't make it, but I bought a 3-D printed mag loader, made by Tacshots.
.
This Universal Mag loader (large), $8 on fleabay, was suppose to fit the mags for my Ruger American(45acp). When I got it, I found my mags didn't quite fit, but it was real close. After looking at it, I figured if I could modify it without wrecking it, I would be good to go.
.
I wasn't sure if this plastic was a thermo-plastic or more of a epoxy type of plastic. It wouldn't work for me as is, so I got the torch out, and heated the short side and forced the mag inside and let it cool. Works great, it's a snug fit, but that almost makes it easier to use.
