Looks like the 40-60 Win loads for the 1876 could be replicated with the .41 Rem Mag. Do note, the 1876 had a "weak" action [AFAIK] and it used a 210 grain bullet around 1500.

Makes me wonder about that .41 Rem Mag Contender barrel... Oh, after dithering around over a new .414 SM barrel, I figure it would be @ 550+ for a 24" MGM barrel. Spicy. With a .41, you are already shooting a pre-expanded projectile [ditto for .43 and .45].
