I use a ladle now and a 2 cav Al mould stays plenty warm for me. I can over heat this one in a hurry if I rush.
I like to watch for the sprue to flash, cut the sprue, then look at the bullet base. If the base is still shiny I wait a few seconds before dumping so the bullet is fully set.
Between a small fan, timing, and a ladle I solved pretty much all of my heat related issues. Fan for cooli, ladle for heating, time to get it just right.
