An " oldie " from the past.
I ordered this used mould about 8 - 10 days ago.
The mould arrived today.
The outside of the mould wasn't in the kind of shape that I was expecting.
However, the mould cavities are just fine, which obviously is the most impt. thing. I'll be using these in the Smith Model 625, 45 Auto Rim.
I'm a happy camper.

The mould cast some very nice bullets
They are dropping from the mould at .453" and weigh 230 grs. :

Here are the bullets, lubed, sized, rolled in BLL and will dry overnight :

A great mold. Seat those bullets just shy of the top of the bearing surface, taper crimp and they'll feed in anything.
My mold drops .453 with a BH of 10.

Keith,

I have a friend that owns one.
He influenced me with the buy.
He says it is one of his fav. .45 moulds.

I have a 5" M625 Model of 1989 that will shoot almost any bullet of the proper diameter well. That bullet looks like it would be a winner.

10+ years ago I had use of a 'BD-45' mould and filled a couple 2# coffee cans with castings. Filled up, these monsters weigh 25# or so, and I made it my business to empty them both out as I used their contents over the years.

All of my 45 ACPs love these bullets, and they feed like water through a downspout. I haven't run them in my S&W 625 yet, but there's no reason not to.

Ben, your bullets always look so sharp and well defined. I know you do a great job photographing them, but I’m curious what alloy you use for these beautiful slugs.

I use clip on WW's.
I do run my alloy fairly hot and keep a rapid casting cadence.
I try and pay attention to the mould temp as much as the alloy temp.
Thanks for your kind comments.
Have a nice Easter Weekend.
