Had this 545 grain mold cut by Tom at accurate
And a 350 grain in the same mold.
It shows no signs of leading and good starting accuracy at 50 yards. I accidentally shattered a fence post in the distance test firing. But it was a cool sight. Ps it kicks like a mule.

It might not start out fast but something that heavy isn't gonna stop fast either.
How fast were they going?

The 545 were on the edge of supersonic and the 350s were loaded with 37.5 grains of re7 well into supersonic. The 37.5 load is very stiff. I would work up to it and start around 34 grain. I was using starline brass. However I used large rifle primers not pistol. This load was not a general use load. All disclaimers aply.

A 545 at 1100 fps is something to be reckoned with. Got photos of the rifle?

Holy cow. 545 grains at the speed of sound, as fast as you can pull the trigger, for what is it? Nine rounds in a 30-round Pmag? Basically it's a 300-yard-accurate 12-gauge that doesn't lose energy nearly as fast.

I'll get photos soon. I had Bob out tonight and he was Impressed. He kept saying it's like a full power 45/70!
The host is a carbine length AR. With. Mi 15 inch rail, and a Fixed A2 stock. I have a feeling it might break a collapsible one.

Ouch! My Marlin .45-70 with a 140 gr lighter bullet at a bit faster speed, and 8lbs plus
gun wt is a real solid kicker. In an AR, I think it might be pretty unpleasant. Push that
bad boy up a bit and you can hunt elephants with confidence.
