A bit of cast testing

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Lot of guys that are there, or used to be, I'd like to see migrate here. You lose track of people though. I used to see Jumptrap on a tractor site. No clue what ever happened to him. His experiments with the MN were classic! Of course they cheap back then!

Of course there were a few I hope NEVER find this place too!

Everyone is welcome as long as they place nice.
There are some people who refuse to admit some people have abilities they don’t share. Very little in shooting has a single solution yet some insist there is.

Bret, Jumptrap's (Mark Harris) a friend of Beagle (John Goins). Maybe Beagle will see this and inquire about Jump.

I hope I'm still welcome even though I give you a lot of grief.
You don't give me grief, you just don't listen to what amounts to probably 75-100 years of accumulated experience. Do whatcha want man, just don't try to ask the same question a different way 100 times cause your going to get the same answer you have a bunch of times already. Bhn isn't the answer you want it to be.

Mans gotta do what a mans gotta do! Merry Christmas!

I'd just like to know how he's doing. He was good egg once you got to know him.

Is Beagle here? Or is he using a different handle now? I swear, my memory sucks.

It’s actually a 12 gauge Topper with a permanent liner installed. My brother is a machinist; he turned down a Green Mtn barrel blank to fit and I did the rest.
I once had a Rossi lever action 44-40, and by the time I had disassembled and reassembled it twenty times smoothing up the feeding- I had fallen for the 44WCF cartridge itself.
I like it so much that I recently did another one, this time a takeoff Tikka 22-250 barrel was used to make a .218 Bee Topper. Another semi obscure cartridge that I’m fond of.A014DB83-9559-459E-A191-10A15B5948C4.jpeg

I like that "liner" idea !!! Find a 20 gauge and have at it..
I also have an inclination for the 44 WCF.

Perfect eating size too. One shot, one dead piggy, neat rifle and caliber, nothing to regret about that. You'll get your chance with the 6.8.

Hmmm,.. "Mark Harris?"

From Kentucky? I knew a Mark Harris, albeit face-to-face, years ago. He was a pal of my dad's, half way between my dad's and my age, might be early 70-ish now. I still have a small handful of 22 cal jacketed bullets he swaged from 22 LR cases. He made me SO envious with that setup, as even then, I was on a quest to do as much independently - myself. Cut out supply chains and costs, see how well I could do with stuff which wasn't heralded as having super-powers just because someone else made it and attached some suggestive moniker to it.
