The other day, while I was walking the dog, I found a nice piece of loading strap lying on the ground.
Fairly heavy material, with a bit of friction to it. Perfect for making a shooting strap!
The ends where sewn together at the correct length for me. I cut slits in two pieces of garden hose, for friction lock.
I've been using this kind of sling for hunting some years now, I like them. Note that the sling is not attached to the gun, only your upper arm. When it is time to shoot, you slide your hand into the sling like in the picture.
The sling also works well as a carry or drag sling for smaller deer-like animals.
