See the occasional yote, but rarely deer in the neighborhoods around here. Used to see them nearly every morning when I traversed the Santa Monica Mountains between the 101 Fwy and SR 1 (Pacific Coast Hwy.) on my way to work in Culver City.
Camping one night and sleeping out in the open up on Iowa Hill in central Calif., was awakened by a doe sticking her cold wet nose right in my ear.
