Another combo mold

Delivered today. Got it on eBay. I like combo molds. I like to try and imagine what the original buyer was thinking or planning. This mold was obviously ordered by someone who was a .45 ACP shooter. Three cavities are 452460, Ideal's original 200 gr SWC target bullet. One cavity is a 452374, Ideal's 225 gr round nose. There are no Lyman markings on the old, apparently it predates Lyman's ownership.

Bullet designations stamped on side of Ideal mold.

One .45 ball and three target bullets

The cavities look fine, a snidge rough but no real pitting

I'm glad you got it, I saw it and tried to Bid on it, but long story short. Me and the seller had a disagreement and he Blocked me, wouldn't let me bid and said contact seller. He got two of his descriptions mixed up, which was fine. All I needed was "I made a mistake", but he got real smart with me over eBay chat. I refrained from telling him to #### off. I told him in a much nicer manner.

Anyway, I am glad someone that can appreciate the mold got a hold of it.

There was another 2-cavity ideal that popped up last couple weeks, that had 2 different 30 cal designs. Those are the first I've seen pop up in a long time if ever.

Just picked up another combo mold off eBay. It's a two cavity in two different calibers. I'll put up a thread for it after I get it and photograph it.

A lot of those guys don't know their mould from a hole in the ground.

@Ben you are correct. It wasn't a deal breaker for me, I bought a Hollow point converted 358432 and according to the description it came with a hollow point pin, even though the pictures didn't show it. Partly my fault, because I didn't ask. it did come with a FP pin installed, so I can make a Pin at some point if I would like. It was 25 dollars, so I didn't really lose anything, I got a functional Mould. It was just the unprofessional response from the seller that ticked me off. After some back and forth, the seller did offer to let me return the item, but honestly it wasn't worth the hassle. I just let it go as a disagreement and misunderstanding and didn't think anything more of it. Truthfully, I found it almost comical that he blocked me from bidding on his items after that. I didn't even leave him negative feedback over it, (shrug). I have more important stuff to do than worry about that type of stuff.

One thing I have found odd is listings that don't list the number, and then the ones that take pictures of the outside of the mold in 20 different orientations and not have the first picture of the cavities. They usually want far too much for them and I just keep scrolling.

I won't buy any mold that doesn't have photos of the cavities. You don't have to be an expert to figure out what needs to be photographed!

At large, whereabouts unknown.
I once won an auction on an early 358395 SC hollowbase mould. This one was early enough that it had the captured hollowbase pin. A pretty desirable mould in what appeared to be good condition. When I received the mould the first thing I noticed was that the top of the blocks had been cut down pretty badly by what appeared to be a belt sander or something similar. The blocks had a similar appearance to a volcano, The exact area around the top of the cavity remained out to about 1/4 inch from the cavity. Everything else had been sanded or ground off.

I contacted the seller who told me angrily that the mould was still functional and I could not return it. I had to call ebay in on that one to get a refund. The tops of the blocks were not shown at all in the pics, and some seriously inventive camera angles were involved. The seller was obviously trying to pull a fast one. There was a pic of the top of the mould with the sprue plate closed, dead square to the camera so the damage couldn't be seen.
