Any "Longmire" Fans?

California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
Posts in another thread that mentioned movies filmed in New Mexico reminded me that "Longmire" was filmed/partially filmed there. Any fans want to start a discussion?

You know my taste in movies. I enjoyed Longmire. Never cared much for Lou Diamond Phillips, but he was a decent choice for the character of Henry Standing Bear. Gerald McRaney (Simon & Simon TV show) made a very good bad guy.

I have watched the Longmire series twice now and about due for a third time around. I lived in New Mexico twice (Farmington and Deming) and have great affection for "The Land of Enchantment".

I watched the entire series twice.

My only New Mexico experience was a road trip to visit my now deceased reloading mentor, gun buying enabler and best friend who lived in Roswell. We spent the day visiting the Billy the Kid country of Lincoln and Fort Stanton, stood at the top of the stairs where the Kid shot deputy Bell and the window from where he killed deputy Olinger, ate burgers at the Smokey Bear restaurant next to his grave, drove through Ruidoso and stopped at the marker where John Tunstall was murdered.

Watched the whole series on Netflix. One time watching is enough for any show. Waiting on start of the third season of Yellowstone, Sunday. Two hour event.

I really enjoyed the series.
Was really taken aback by the choice of Lou Diamond Phillips as Henry Standing Bear. The character in the books was written as a Big Man at 6'4" and Broad Shouldered.
But He carried it off very well.

At least Pinos Altos has trees. ;)
I live in Yakima, WA, the high steppes; what are trees? Those green things on the tops of the ridges 2500 feet up? The upper elevations of Silver City have trees. :)

Yep, read many of the books, and Henry was a big man who spoke without using contractions.

My wife watched the entire "Yellowstone" series. I boycott left-leaning people and companies. I don't like Costner's politics so I won't be watching it. My wife is not 100% with my boycotts, but she is learning.

Silly me, I thought Yakama was the Washington State Delicious apple capitol.

When I was five, my parents left the Central Coast and moved to Auburn, Washington. My father grew up in Algona, my mother was born in Cle-Elum and grew up in Puyallup. We lived there till I finished 7th grade, then returned to the Central Coast. The junior high school had a Washington State Delicious apple vending machine near the cafeteria. A dime an apple.

The green things, that the apples from your region, grow on.
You know all the old orchards have been cut down? An apple orchard is now a hedge row, maximum height of 8 of feet. You can pick the fruit without a ladder and use less water per ton of fruit.

If it wasn't for children and grandchildren, I would be living in Silver City or Pinos Altos.
When I lived in Deming, we kept the road hot between there and Silver City area. My wife taught some courses at the Univ. in Silver City. Grant County NM had a public shooting range at Bayard just out of Silver City and that is where I shot. We ate dinner many times at the Buckhorn Saloon in Pinos Altos...great food there. Great part of the world.

I watched Longmire on Outdoor Channel, they ran it for a couple years or more. I think after watching all of them I got the whole thing.
Yellowstone was mentioned, we bought a couple of the series on disc, but not the newest. Great show.
I cut the cable a few months ago, tired of paying to watch disgusting commercials. At least if I see one over the air, I know I didn't pay them a dime!

i gave longmire an honest attempt, it's on enough i could give it another try, but can't force myself to not watch something else instead.
