I hate being cheap, but alas,im still using the old fashion no igniter torch, and thats a pain.
Maybe i should get in the 21st century, but thats painful as well!
Prior to getting the ignitor equipped torch I simply kept a flint torch lighter hanging off the bench. Hardly any less convenient.

Thank you for the spout thaw tips!

I recently broke down and bought an ignitor equipped torch. What a revelation! One of those things that I should have done decades ago. Instantaneous operation, one hand operation, instant off, and the flame is much less likely to blow out.

I cast standing. The thought of molten lead ending up in my lap is more than I am willing to risk.
I use a C-clamp to make sure the pot doesn't tip over.

I happen to be standing, here, because I'm emptying the pot when done casting.

When ladle casting, I want to be looking down, into the pot. So I use a bar stool height chair. Puts your lap above the pot.

Came late to the ProMelt game. Purchased a lightly used 220V off GB for $160 about 10 years ago. Used 10 & 20# Lee, prior to.
