That is why we are staying in Springfield! Well, that and to go to the "big" Basspro shop.
My wife is being a great sport thru all this. I have a feeling I'm gonna owe her.

I just need to make sure we get to Springfield at a reasonable time Sunday!

Reasonable time is a relative term. Remember that you and your bride have dinner invitations lovingly prepared by Mrs. Winelover.

Yes we do. I figure that if we leave by 7-8 PM we should be good. I will call ahead and make sure they hold the room.
We are looking forward to meeting a few new people and a great meal. What more does a guy need?

If we are in Springfield by 10-11 PM I will be happy.

Good luck with the hunting tomorrow guys. I expect to see some photos of your deer on Sunday.

Hey, I just thought . . . You will get to see the picnic table. Remember the hillbilly construction shooting bench?

Here is a picture of it before it fell over. :(

Yeah, yeah.
I have good news. I changed my hotel for Sunday night, we will be staying the night in Mountian Home. Saves me the wear and tear of driving that late, I'm a wuss about night time driving.

This means you get more time with my sarcastic wit.

I couldn't figure out why you didn't do that in the first place. What motel did you get?

Hampton inn. We are building points for free nights so we decided to stick with a single company.
As for why? Hell, I don't know. Stupidity? Lack of foresight?

I'm guessing you'll love the 624. I have both the 629 and 624, and if push came to shove, I'd choose the 624 over the mag. I like the scaled down lines and weight better, and less recoil. I think too many folks have tried to get mag ballistics out of lightweight special frames and had troubles with recoil. I find staying around 750-800 fps with 240-250 gr. bullets is a pleasure to shoot and plenty for whitetails.

Sunday afternoon we ran a box of factory lead Cowboy loads through it. Brad, Winelover and myself all shot some respectable 25 yard offhand groups. I think Brad was pleased.

Oh, I was quite pleased.
Later this week I want to run a hundred or more thru it to get the sights adjusted and get a feel for the revolver.

I'm surprised Brad's new gun didn't reject the factory ammo.

It seems like a sin to buy premade ammo. I bought 1 box of 20 rounds this year just to try a new gun. I felt like a chump buying that overpriced ammo.

I hated to buy any but I wanted to try before I buy and Rick had nothing loaded.
Good news is that I bought cowboy loads by HSM and they use Starlne brass. That reduced the shock from buying ammo.

He doesn't shoot much 44 special.

He does, however, cast the most beautiful, precise bullets I have ever seen. Sharp corner, perfect fill, and nary a flaw anywhere. I was in awe of the overall quality I saw, I know mine aren't near that good.
I do, however, now have an idea of what I need to work towards.
