C358-200-RF in my Remington 141 ?

Anybody shoot this bullet in a 141 ? I just got a 1936 model in good shape and have no mold for it and was wondering if this would work through these pumps . Read a post elsewhere that said FN bullets don't work well in then and cause jams . I have plenty of .35 jacketed in RN and FN that I use in my .358 W , gonna load a few of the 180 Speer FN's and see how they cycle . Any info appreciated , Thanks !

I’ve never messed with a 141 but can’t image the 35-200 not feeding. The meplat is actually pretty small.
If no one comes along that has experience with it I can send you some 35-200’s to try. Mine come from a NOE mold.

Ian, I know they will shoot just not sure they will cycle in the 141 . That's a funny looking cat !

Will, Thanks but I have a Lee mold on the way . Is there a difference in the Noe version versus the Lee ?

I’m pretty sure both are a copy of the RCBS 35-200. Mine being a NOE it’s a little fatter on the nose.

Thanks Will . I'll try the Lee's when the mold gets here . If they work I may bum a few of the Noe's from you to try . If they work better I ain't above buying another mold .

I know a Rem 14/141 guru who will tell you under no uncertain terms to reload, and def NOT cast lead bullets, in a 14/141. No more than I shoot mine, I just stick to factory Rem Core Lokts. Mine is a 1928 14. Guy says that the BIG deal for the 14/141 is COAL, and that lead shavings off cast bullets don't do the action any good either. Basically I gave up and refused to argue with him. Let me know how yours works. Thanx

I know exactly who you are referring to . Not saying he is not 100% correct but I can't imagine not being able to shoot cast in anything I own . Also can't imagine a rifle in good condition fed properly constructed cast loads would shave lead to any real degree . Mines eighty four years old so I'd guess it has been through several owners , hard to believe it ain't eat it's share of reloads in all that time . He is the only one I have run across to say that reloads are a no no in a 14/141 . We will see and I will report my results as soon as my dies and mold get here .

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I have no first hand experience with that design in a 14/141 but we had loads of them through the shop back in the day. I don't recall ever hearing of a feeding problem that wasn't related to a dirty, dry action.

I didn't have any trouble in a 32 Rem M14 . I shot at least a couple hundred rounds most of which was in modified 30-30 and 32 WS brass . I've seen maybe 10 boxes of .321 jacketed bullets .

Whatever , we're not supposed to shoot cast in Glocks either .
