No, this is just off the 15 past Barstow. El Mirage is due East of Lancaster.

There are a string of dry lakes--sometimes seasonally filled with rainwater in wet years--that ran during the glaciation periods in a semi-circle from Owens Lake to Death Valley. Death Valley was at one time filled with water thousands of years ago, as were this series of lakes. Some of these dry lake beds make wonderful long range target venues.
