CZ527 Youth Carbine, 7.62x39 (See CZ-USA Link below for Specifications)

CORRECTION MADE 7/29/2023 - Scope base listed in accessories is not part of the accessories. It goes with the rifle, as it is specific to the rifle. My apologies for the error and thanks to @shuz for his inquiry as it drew my attention to the error.

Includes box, all papers, tags, etc.

Includes ONE 5-round magazine

Includes DIP 0-MOA base, adapts European dovetail to Weaver

Round-Count: 50 rounds of light cast bullet loads (150 grain RF/7.5 gr Unique), but I could easily (falsely) claim this rifle is new, based on appearance

CZ527 CBN-001 (Copy).jpg

I bought this rifle new, as a candidate for my ONE 30 cal, cast-bullet rifle. I love it, but the 30/30 Contender carbine made more sense, so this one goes. For a “youth” model, it fits ME very well. I actually bought a youth stock for my 222 American after using this one. It is very handy, shot very well for what little I shot it and they don’t make ‘em like this any more, as is so for so many good things. Every time I’ve gotten it out to take pictures to sell it, I put it back in the safe, because I like it so much, but time to get serious. I made no modifications to this gun – didn’t need to. I did deburr the inside of the magazine lips, as I’ve had to on every CZ 527 magazine I’ve owned. I’d prefer to move all the accessories WITH the rifle, so am offering them rather cheaply WITH the rifle.

ACCESSORIES:
  • 250 7.62x39 Starline cases:
    • 50 1x-fired
    • 200 unfired
  • 150 grain Ranch Dog Mould, 6C Lee
  • LEE, .313” Push-Through bullet sizing die w/push-rod
  • LEE, Die Set:
    • FLR
    • Collet Neck-Sizer
    • Seater
    • “Dead-Length Seater
    • Shell-Holder
  • ONE extra new-in-package 5-round magazine

$850 for ALL above, plus actual shipping from me to an FFL who will receive from an individual or more if I have to send through an FFL and for accessories, which would ship separately.

$750 for just the rifle/box/papers, plus actual shipping from me to an FFL who will receive from an individual or more if I have to send through an FFL.

NO accessories will be sold unless/until the rifle is sold. If a buyer chooses not to take the accessories with the rifle, then the accessories will be offered as a package or broken up.

$200 for all accessories as a separate (from the rifle), complete package, plus actual shipping AFTER the rifle has sold.

Each item will be priced separately if the package is broken up.

I’m offering the accessories WITH the rifle at a healthy discount as a sales incentive and to keep things as simple on my end as possible.

First unequivocal “I’ll take it” posted here wins

Ask questions here.

Make offers via PM, as depending on my mood, I MAY be open to trading for a stainless, Rossi 92, 16” 357 Mag carbine or the right stainless, 3”, five-shot 357. Done with projects though and wary of getting into another.

PM for addresses/payment info, FFL stuff, etc. If you already have my cell, feel free to use that, but please post here if you intend to take it, so there are no hard feelings if we make the deal while someone else is posting here.

Buyer is responsible to ensure that anything purchased is legal to receive/own where he or she lives.
NO sales outside the 50 US states.

To any interested parties, I have this exact rifle, you won't find another perfect rifle/caliber for an eastern hunting rig anywhere. The price is VERY reasonable and I hope Jeff has a quick and easy sale.

If this is available in 6 weeks... it might possibly be mine... but as I've just started a new job, I'm unfortunately not in the market.

What type scope mounts will it take?
Is it easy to find a larger stock for this fine looking rifle?

The dovetail milled into the receiver is standard for European guns, and I believe is 30mm. These are not terribly difficult to find, but not nearly as common ans the standard Weaver here in the US. The base mentioned in the "accessories" clamps onto the factory dovetail and provides the standard Weaver configuration on top so you can use whatever rings you already have. I have used this mount on two different CZ527s, with Weaver LOW rings and it's as low as you can get, plus it cleared both the older bolt-handle and the newer one, which is slightly different to allow lower scope mounting. This rifle has the newer bolt-handle.

I currently have a pair of "Hunker" rings mounted to my 527 American in 222. They're very nice, cost me about $110 and get the scope almost as low as the setup I mentioned with the DIP base. I believe CZ rings were running about $75, were very high and too heavy for me. Bottom line, there are a lot of options, but if I were setting one up again, I'd go with the DIP base and a set of Burris ZEE-Rings, which seems quit popular with guys on Rimfire Central. I'm happy with the mounts I have on the 222 and won't upset my zero by changing them otherwise.

NOTE: I was supposed to state the offer to include the scope base with the rifle and not with the accessories. I will correct the original post. I just noticed I put it in with the accessories.

As for the stock, there are a few commercial options available, but are heavy target-type stocks. I wanted to swap my 527 American stock for a Youth Carbine stock and found a guy on Rimfire Central, within a day, who anted to swap his Youth stock for an American stock. We traded even-up and each got what we wanted. I'd look there first, as there is quite a following and the guys I dealt with on that forum were all decent. Don't let the LOP on this one fool you. It measures "short" but the gun is scaled well to it and it is not crowded for most adults. I'm 5'-6" and don't have unusually short arms and this fits me perfectly. The youth stock on their 452 Scout WAS crowded for me though and I'd have replaced it if I hadn't traded it. I don't think one has to worry much about "scope-eye" with this chambering either, so having extra eye-relief is also not as critical on a bigger cartridge.

Thanks for asking and don't hesitate to ask any other questions. It helps me by helping anyone else looking at the post who's wondering what about this or that.

A photo with the DIP base, Weaver low rings and a Weaver V3 Classic 1-3x20 mounted on a CZ527:

This is a very solid setup and a quality base. I've used on a 527 Varmint in 223 and a 527 American in 222.

IF YOU POSTED THE LENGTH FROM THE TRIGGER TO THE BUTT PAD IT'D HELP.
dammit caps lock.. LOL,, i'm not yelling.
anyway at 6'0 and 200 lbs. i'm comfortable with anything around 13-3/4"s LOP on a rifle.

From the link in the original post:

"Length Of Pull - 12.75 in"

Copying/pasting the whole chart was ugly.

And it's fine if you yell, because I'M HARD OF HEARING AND YELL ALL THE TIME MYSELF. ;)

The CZ 527 dovetail is 16mm, rings are/have been made by Leupold, Burris, Calhoon, CZ, Warne, Talley and Millett as well as a number of less common (in the States) European rings/mounts. The scope ring heights varies somewhat. Tikka scope rings at a 16.5mm dovetail have a reputation for working well with the CZ 527 rifles also but I haven't tried this myself so can't actually confirm it. These are dandy little rifles they have their idiosyncrasies, but they are worth it. I have both Carbine variations one in 223 Rem and the other in the 7.62X39mm and with the Youth Stock they have been use as youth deer rifles when a cut down Remington 600 in 243 is too heavy of a rifle for a 9-year-old hunter. The shorter youth stock fells a bit weird at first but only because I'm use to the longer stocked rifles. Since CZ discontinued these rifles, the price has skyrocketed for both used and new versions of the CZ 527's. Jeff H's offer in today's market is more than fair.

Thanks, @david s .

I missed the dovetail dimension on the base.

Yes, the price on these has skyrocketed. Ten years ago, they were a real bargain - underpriced for the quality and features. It's sad they are gone now, but I'm saving one for myself. They are exquisite little rifles. They were the last of the "old-world" quality and workmanship.
