I recommend returning the edit button and removing the silent edit option. A 5 minute window shouldn't be an issue, I fix typo's all the time myself. If for some reason this doesn't work out we can try something else at the time. I think it's important for people to have the opportunity to fix errors and any edit after 5 minutes will have a time stamp. If we have to worry about every tech type out there we have bigger issues.

I'm for that! maybe I misunderstood "silent edit "??? I just want to be able to fix things I just posted quickly...if it is after the fact I know you lads will set me straight!

I asked Kevin to put the button back. He can remove the silent edit but he says there are ways around it, at least for the computer savvy.
I have a feeling that eliminates most of us.

Thanks Kevin. Should work out fine that way. The forum software should give a 5 minute window to edit a post without time stamping it, after 5 minutes any edit should show a time of edit. I'll try that with this post and see if it really works that way.

Edit . . .

No time stamp on the first edit, should be one now with this second edit.

Sounds good to me! Like I said I did not understand what "Silent edit" was. Now I see that is a bad thing
I just need to fix the brain laps between hitting the "send button" ...and "what are you an idiot that can't put words together!"
