Its a long bullet @ .900. Very very remicent of my MP 454-297 Ruger Only Mold, but heavier. The MP
Mold did not come with a solid pin set. So I dont know what it would weigh as a solid.

Now you've got me thinking. . . scaled down, that would make a nice HP bullet for the .44 special and .38/.357.

ETA: Actually, it might be enough to just have scaled-down pins made for the Keith or Thompson bullets.

"Small" as in diameter opposed to .458 thats the large 45.
Gotcha, sir. Then we have the 'large' 45s like my RCBS 45-300-FNGC, which falls out @.457" and scales about 325 grains. It is meant to feed 45/70s, but my smallest-ever rifle in that caliber has .459" throats. I hate mining lead from a barrel. One fine day I tried sizing these in my .454" H&I die after lubing in my .457" die. This did all right, so I seated them into 45 Colt cases over 8.0 grains of Unique. ACCURATE! NICE! I didn't clock these, but recoil was moderate in the Bisley Blackhawk. At 25 yards these hit about 3" higher than my usual Lyman #454424 @ 1000 FPS (10.0 x Unique or 11.0 x Herco).

Proof-of-concept complete, I got adventurous and started ladder-loading these atop 2400. These I did chronograph; they stayed accurate and recreational until about 1150 FPS, when the recoil morphed from 'recreational' into arduous.

In my alloy that should be close to #2. HP weigh 294g. CUP weigh 354g and solids are 368g.

Its gonna be good in the 450 BushMaster bolt. Pleasantly surprised it will work in the 454 Rossi alsth I have not tried to cycle any. Doubtful it would cycle.
