The birth year revolver has the polished grip adapter, the other Model 1950 has the black adapter.

That elk grip with silver adapter is quite handsome.

Bought a 25-2 back in the 80's in the S&W wooden presentation case at a gun show. Used it in many a pin & plate shoot. With full moon clips, fastest reload of any revolver.
