Had this saw since 2002 and was cutting a large ingot (50 lbs) of mystery metal when it suddenly stopped working. Replaced toggle switch but still didn't work. Capacitor ok and motor checked out ok. Sitting there scratching my head when I noticed the power cord looked like some critter had been chewing on it. New plug and cord, plugged it in and darned if it didn't run. Cleaned it up with a wire brush and one of the maroon 3M pads. oiled it up. Last week was looking at a section of 40mm bofors gun barrel. Barrel had been demilled by torch cuts and had to be cut back to get to good metal. Had spare blades but teeth facing the wrong way. Took the replacement blade and turned it inside out, now teeth facing the right way. Barrel weighs north of 100lbs so used an old workmate to support it while being cut. 1'st cut took about 3 hours and plenty of oil. Second cut about 4 hours and also plenty of oil to lubricate the blade. Now have a section of barrel about 3' long. Npw have to see if I can somehow lift it onto my lathe and face both ends. My steady rest will only go 2 3/4" so just might call a machine shop in town. To face the ends off. And just maybey I'll actually make a cannon out of it. Lifting heavy stuff out of the picture for this old guy. And have to get my old pressure washer up and running. Frank
