Santa is bringing this one to me. He knew that I needed another mould and he knew that I'd been a good boy !

Ben, is that a used mold or current production. I have an NOE button nose WC for my 32's. I wouldn't mind having one of those for their bigger brother.

I got it from a very good friend of mine that said that he bought it several yrs. ago and never heated the mould. How old exactly, I don't know ?

Thank you for sharing that.

My curiosity was piqued so I looked. Al still has a few RG hollow point molds in stock, and plenty of the solid nosed. I may need to pick this mold up when he has his next sale.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
358432 again! I think NOE still lists this one, but they never have stock on anything I've wanted to buy. Not to beat a dead horse again, but that's the way it has worked out for me for quite awhile.

I believe that NOE offered that basic mould profile in 38-41-44 and 45 a number of years ago. The different calibers were done as one run. Over time I acquired the four different calibers. I shoot this in 38 Special quite a bit but know the mould by the older NOE numbering format.

Ben knows of my fondness for pattern #358432. Mine is in Lyman 2-cavity flavor and close to 45 years old, and in its heavier form--160 grains nominal weight. I have run it from 700-1250 FPS in 38 Special and 357 Magnum with great accuracy. It is the only 38/357 wadcutter bullet I have owned since I joined The Galena Cult Followers.

I also have it's little brother--Lyman #313492. This casting has done similar fine work in 32 SWL and 32 Magnum at 700-1250 FPS. I used its rebated nose band to my advantage in 7.62 c 38R loads--with this bullet flush-seated in those weird cartridges I place a profile crimp of sorts to retain the bullets under recoil with my sizer die in 32 SWL/Mag.

Now I sort of want one too...

Talk to Ole' Santa, that's what I did.
I told him I'd been a real good boy and
he bought the whole story.

I tested the W/C for penetration and expansion today.
Shot into wet sand, it penetrated about 14".
Started out at 150 grs. , shot in a 38 Spec. case with 5.5 grs. of Unique.
Here are the results :
