Not certain that I can get this plain base version you see above up to adequate speed ( and retain gilt edge accuracy ) for some of the big white tails we have around here , however the gas checked version should serve in that role quite well.

The plain base will serve well in the off season to keep my trigger finger tuned.

Looks like a pretty good cross-over mould. Punch paper with the plain base and bring home supper with the gas checked version.
Waitin' to see what kind of difference the D-ring makes.

I have some doubts that it will make little if any difference.
That said, I have often been wrong in my speculations, and
Ben's results may add to that number.
