I bought a couple of HP moulds from S Mac.
The two moulds arrived today and I've already cast with them.
Both are very nice moulds.
Thanks,
Steve

The 311465 drops at about .312 and sizes nice and round to .311"
The 358430 drops at .361 - .362 and weighs 193 grs.

#358430 has mostly had revolver duty with me. I did paper-patch some pure lead castings of this form and ran them through my 9.3 x 62 rifle at an NCBS meet some years back. They were VERY ACCURATE to 100 yards, ahead of 23.0 grains of 2400.

Is the 430 destined for a rifle?
I have a Marlin 1894 CBC in 38 Spec.
I've already been thinking about shooting the 358430 out of that rifle.

Of course, I also have 3 other 358 Win. rifles and a Ruger # 1 in 357 MAX.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
That 430 really deserves a 38 S+W so you can duplicate the old "Super Police" load. I've got one too, but mines skinny!

Looks great Ben!!

Short time Back, I looked and looked for a 358430 in HP. Not wanting to "invest" in one from Eric I bought the closest I found a NOE 360-197RNPB. Its a rifle bullet where the 430 is a pistol. But it works.

You know Id like it Ben should you want ta sell please drop me a line. :)

Yesterday with my 1st attempts to use the 311465 HP mould, I had a little trouble ( more like a lot of trouble ) with the nose filling our properly.
Whenever the HP pin dia. forces the nose of the bullet to have super thin walls, it is near impossible to get a decent bullet.
I've run into this on many occasions with HP bullet moulds.
Only answer is to thin the pin.
Didn't take too long to do it.
Works great now.

Here is the original pin.

Here is my modification, at rifle velocities, this pin
is all this is needed :

Thats what I see!!

I have played with this one with fat skinny and long pins. There is a reason these have this style.
