Got to looking and scrounging the internet for a 4 cavity new Lyman 429-421, was going to get it HPed , but that’s a little more than I want to put into a mold after all, I did and found a little place called xxxxxxxxx, (If you want to know where PM me) and Lo and behold they had a new one in stock. Few dollars later I have my first brand new Lyman mold, and also my first 4 cavity iron mold. All I need now is a set of new 4 cav handles and I’ll be on my way. Until I find new handles I’ll probably use it with Lee handles until then. Kinda excited about this one.
Guess the point is if you look hard enough your kindle to find what your looking for.

Thanks @fiver just rain on a fellas parade!!! :sigh: I am looking at an accurate mold, Tom has one that I’m going to have to have. He’s actually got 2. They are in the 30 cal family though. Only reason I haven’t is I’m still learning some things and mold care and set up is one. I want to get that worked out before I get anymore aluminums. My lees look like hell from the gauling from not being set up right or treated like an aluminum mold. Prefer to have my stuff together before I buy a very nice top of the line mold to last me many years.

True, but I can get more bullets per pour out of the aluminum’s. I was seriously planning on getting this 4 cav hollow pointed, but 300 bucks is a little steep for me. I’m sure it’s worth that, probably more, but need vs want! I have a brand new RCBS 44-250KT that I’m seriously thinking of sending to Erik. I can stomach the 150 for a 2 cav. I will use this mold and make plonking billets from now on. It will last me my lifetime and someone will get a deal on a good mold when they auction off my estate!

@dale2242 ive got a 2 cav it’s older and I dropped it, needs a little work to get the ding out of the cavity, this will be my replacement for it. I really like the bullet. It shoots really well for me too.

BTW I'm a Lyman 4 cavity fanboi.

Do some searching for an MP H&G 503 copy. I have a two cavity version of it. The 503 is reputedly the closest version of the Keith to Elmers original specs. Maybe someday Miha will offer new HP versions of it again. He currently has 4 and 6 cavity .432 dia. solid moulds in stock for around $90.00, according to his website. https://www.mp-molds.com/bullet-casting-equipment/?pa_caliber=432

@fiver I’m just running on and full of it. I make up my mind I get tunnel vision. The 4 cav 422 was it last week, now I’m in to the next one. Guess what I was trying to prove was you can buy new at new price for what used is going for if you look hard enough and are patient enough. I’ve gotten pretty proficient with the 2 cavity’s, and not hiring myself. I average 300-350 an hour if I don’t get distracted and have to slow down or stop a few minutes.
Now I’m after a 358-429 or a clone of it. Haven’t done much looking, but may be something out there.

@358156 hp been looking over MP website couple weeks now. I may just have to pull the trigger in 2 brass molds and see what the rage is about. MP has some nice molds at extremely fair prices IMO. Thanks for the tip too, give me a few things to think on.

the 091 is super similar to the 495 I wouldn't turn one down [I have one] if I were you.

lyman.
358091..... little 148gr. step nosed wad cutter.
2 crimp grooves and 3 lube grooves
it does just fine with only 1 groove full
no crimp, crimp, powder coated, tumble lubed, at 700 fps, or 1200 fps.
it's just a little cylinder shaped bullet with drive bands and a small nose.

I have a 358091 around here somewhere. a remnant of my on again- off again wadcutter affliction. Everything fiver says is true, nothing really seems to bother it. I believe it was designed for the really serious old time bullseye shooters, and that the bevel base was intended to make it easier to seat in unsized cases, as was the fashion for many hardcore shooters. I feel the bevel base makes for an easier casting mould as well. When I set out to sell off the wadcutters, this remained as the only one that wasn't considered expendable, along with 358432 (160 gr), and a really cool old Modern-Bond two cavity. And then there's the RCBS DEWC, and....

I looked it up last night. I knew the number sounding familiar, those are pretty neat little bullets and have actually had my eye out for one of those, or the what seems to be darn close HG#50. I’ve got a RCBS DEWC I haven’t had the time to fire the pot and make any of them last two weeks. Maybe one afternoon this week will be nice enough I can fire it up snd pour a couple hundred to test out.

@CWLONGSHOT would that turquoise one at the top in the middle be an HG#9? #14 from the right. those little bevel based button nose wad cutters are some neat little projectiles.

The Green type three wadcutter is a old Ideal 360344S
The wad cutters are a H&G50.
