I've owned this mould since 1971.
I've yet to find a .44 cal. revolver that it doesn't shoot well in.
Recently, I lapped it out from .429 to .4315"
It is a single cav. mould.
I wish that it was a 4 cav. mould.
I guess we don't get everything we want in this old life.

I have an early 80's Taurus 44 Spec. snub. It is 101% dependable and shoots to the sights at 15 yards. I will shoot ( and carry ) these W/C's in my snub.

That’s a good looking wadcutter. There aren’t any fly’s on a 44 special as a fight stopper. I know of one instance a wad cutter was accidentally used for social work. It was very effective.

Great looking bullet right there!
Been trying to find a wadcutter mold like that for some time most 44 wadcutter molds are hidden in a drawer some where.
I think the wadcutter design is accurate and very capable of defense on two and four legged threats.
I think when I get some extra $$$ I am just going to visit Tom’s sight and order a mold!

Ben, I'm sure Tom at Accurate has something very similar available. I think you owe yourself a new 4 cav!

I have (from estate sale/yet to cast/load/shoot) a Saeco 45 WC. Would love to have one for 44s (both 44 SPC and the 44-40s that like .430s!)

No personal experience with wadcutters in 44 or 45 caliber; just 32 and 38 here.

One of the guys my sister shot PPC with had a custom wadcutter gun built in 45 Colt. Base was a S&W Model 28 he had re-barreled. No, he didn't want a 25-5. It was accurate as all get out, with a custom 225 grain 45 WC of some kind. He still has it, and will not be talked out of it.

If you guys are thinking about 44 WC mould, I have some early 20th century target single cavity moulds by Belding and Mull. One is a 240 and another is a 180, if I remember correctly. Haven't used them in years.

I have two full wadcutter moulds by Lyman, one drops about 180 gr. and the other about 245 grain. Full flat faced wadcutters with sharp corners. 429348 and 429352 maybe? I used to use the smaller one in a Richard Mason conversion to cut plating cards to show off with when I could see the edge of the card clearly yet. I managed to pull that off at 10 paces a couple of times, with witnesses, after a cowboy shoot and gained pistolero status instantly.

I should take the heavier one, and try it in a Super Black Hawk at about 1K speed and see if it will group at archery ranges and use it for deer. Or maybe the lighter one might feed in a Rossi .44 w.c.f. carbine. I sure like the idea of a full caliber hole.

Al just extended his Autumn Sale at NOE. 15% off... he has a few 44 wadcutter moulds, plus a cute little 180 gr RFN, and a 224 gr mini-Keith type?

Just sayin'

Ric - might be your Huckleberry on the 240. Lemme know!

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
My problem is I'm " broke " all the time.
Many wants in the casting and mould dept, but little cash.

Ben
That's 'cuz Trevor keeps shooting up your spare cash!!!!! ;) Got to get that boy a job to support his shooting habit! ;)

My exact logic for the application of the W/C in my snub .44 Spec.

I believe I have a 44 WC someplace here. I never tried it in the Bulldog that I can remember. Arrrrrgh! (to quote Charlie Brown), I need to find more time to do this stuff!
