If I can find a cheap price on a couple hundred RP's I will likely get them. I want the thinnest walls possible to ease constrictions on the deep softish wadcutters. Or, I will continue to open up the case sizing die slowly using the common to find Starlines until I'm happy with it. Lotsa unique challenges and tinkering with oversized diameter wadcutters.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I think that depends on the caliber. I prefer Remington brass over Winchester in my 45-70 because they are thicker and have less case capacity than the Winchester cases. If I was loading with holy black I would probably want the Winchesters but lack of case capacity is not the problem with smokeless loads in the 45/70.
I noted it was with SOME calibers, not all. RP 32-20 and 25-20 brass for instance are not just real thin, but very fragile as far as either crumpling or cracking. Starline brass is those 2 cals is way, way stronger, tougher and thicker. And yet I still have hundreds of RP 32-20 cases in use! They just aren't used for warmer loads.

Got a chance to fire my test loads of 3.7 B.Eye, and 4.0 of AA2. Both felt good, certainly not too light, to me any way, but verified as safe loads. Again, these are 217 grains after powder coating, seated to the crimp groove, with just a very mild crimp, clip on wheel weights, sized at .433. When time and opportunity permits, I will chrono them. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
