I think Lipsey is currently out with a Ruger GP100 that has a 5-inch half lug barrel and 7 shots in 327 Federal magnum also. The GP100 is a nice-looking revolver at least in photos as I haven't actually seen one. Seems there not afraid of the 32 calibers.

We purchased a GP100 2.5" (?) in 44 Special 5 shot. You have no idea how heavy that beast is. Built like it would make a fine 44 Mag.

I picked one up when they first came out. Well worth the money. The blued finish in a GP100 is fairly unique, and the grips are absolutely great.

I bought one of the 4" GP100's in 327 when they first came out too. Both are wonderful guns.

Something about 32 caliber revolvers..... They seem to draw me in.

I like the 32 H&R Mag but you're going to need a little more barrel length to exploit that cartridge.

A 2" barreled, DAO snubnose with nice boot grips is a great self-defense tool but I think for that type of gun I'm going to demand 38 Special over 32 H&R Mag.

I like the sights on that Lipsey 432 and I'm sure the 32 H&R Mag chambering is an improvement over say 32 S&W Long, but I'm not sure I would carry that in lieu of the same gun chambered in 38 Special. One more round in the cylinder isn't going to sway me.

Lightweight alloy frame - Check
DAO internal hammer for snag-proof carry - Check
Good Boot Grips in durable material that keep the overal profile small - Check
Durable finish for daily carry - Check
Outstanding sights, - Double Check! (those really are good sights)
Chambered in appropriate caliber ...........er........well it's better than 32 S&W Long but..........

It's a nice gun but I think it misses the mark for a 2" DAO snubnose.

The 5-inch GP100 in 327 does have me a bit intrigued. I've been a bit hesitant about just ordering one as I had a four-inch S&W 16 in 32 H&R magnum with the full under lug barrel and this was a bit too much barrel for a 32. The Ruger's half lug barrel might be a better idea, but I haven't actually seen one in person. The Ruger blued 327 Federal GP 100 is a seriously nice-looking pistol.

at least they don't have the stupid lock hole in the side of the frame.
/\ YES /\ :)

I like every thing about those two guns pictured in post #4 - except the chambering.

From the viewpoint of a good concealed carry/pocket gun - those are just about perfect examples of snubnose revolvers.
Lightweight alloy frames that are rust proof and easy to carry.
Slick, snag proof internal hammer DAO design
Excellent boot grips that don't make that small gun any larger than it needs to be. They fill the area between the trigger guard and front strap of the grip frame but don't make the gun too big. The grip material is a also a plus and very durable.
Those sights are VERY good and one of the best features.

If they made that gun with all of those features and chambered it in 38 Special - they would have an unqualified winner.

NOW, if they (Lipsey) took that J-frame and fitted it with a 4" barrel and the same sights, maybe bigger grips (it's no longer a pocket gun with a 4" barrel) they would also have a winner kit gun in 32 H&R Mag. That would be a lightweight kit gun with a durable finish and a chambering appropriate for that use.

I want one specifically because of the chambering. I love the 32 H&R mag, and already carry a Ruger LCR in 327mag from time to time (loaded with 32 H&R's).

If you go to the Lipsey's website, they have the same model in 38 special if that is your particular fancy. Same price too.

I have a bunch of snub nosed revolvers, from N frames down to J frame and I frames. I recently picked up a S&W 431 Airweight in 32 H&R but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. What I wanted was an enclosed hammer model like the one Ric shares photos of from time to time. I had high hopes, but my LGS that I have obtained all my Lipsey's models from in the past said they couldn't find either one yet.

These new revolvers really have piqued my interest. I like the Novak style rear sight, it reminds me of the rear sight on my Ruger SP101 Wiley Clapp, which is one of the best handling snubbies that I own. And the XS Big Dot front sight would be great too.

bit too much barrel for a 32
It is overkill, but it doesn't really decrease the enjoyment of a day out shooting.

My buddy has a S&W Model 16 with the 6" barrel. We had a .32 caliber outing a couple of years ago. As much as I love my two Ruger GP100's in 327, that Model 16 is crazy accurate with a great trigger.

It seems so silly to have such a large framed gun in .327 Mag or .32 H&R, but they are a bunch of fun to shoot.

I have enough 32s on hand to serve my needs. My longtime favorite I've had around since 1989--a S&W Model 16-4 x 6". H Porter described mine succinctly in his post. Also putting in work is a Ruger SP-101 in 327 Federal with a 4.25" barrel. That one requires plugs and muffs for the ears when fired. It is ungodly loud. Most shooting gets done with the RCBS #32-98-SWC at 900-1000 FPS in both of these.

I've carried a S&W 331 32 H&R for about 20 years. I also have a S&W 16. The real difference between the 2" and the 4" is about 100 f/s. Not worth the extra 20 ounces of weight.
