Found and old powder measure and all it says on it is Luger American Corpiration Model 80, might be 30. Haven't had any luck googling. Anyone know who this company was?

I know Herters, and probably others outsouced making of some of there tools. This is probably one of them they sold under their ow name (?).

I have a couple of old Herters measures. This is definitely not the Model 39 I have, but I'll look closer at the other one and compare.

Found another on fleabay with a quick search.

Also found a set of rifle dies made by them. Suspect they were either a short lived company or perhaps did not have the rights to use the name Luger and later changed their name or went out of business.

I hadn't thought about name legalities, that certainly sounds likely.

Could you post a picture of the dies when you can?

I have a set of dies marked Krupp American dies that a long-ago Internet search revealed to be made for and sold by Herter's. Very nice set, too, though I very much doubt that they are made of Krupp steel.

I wonder why that one on ebay didn't show up with a google search? Usually, that's the first thing that pops up.

Unfortunately, some low life Bubba repainted your powder measure. They were an attractive dark green. There are three companies, Luger, Krupp and Ruhr American. Ruhr was the umbrella company the others operated under. They were the Glenwood Minnesota branch of Herter's. For the most part everything they sold was a Herter's, only the reloading tools had some differences. The scales are nice, I like them as the risers are taller and I find them easier to use. Some few tools had the model number marked on the tool, many do not. Some presses do not have the company name on them, just the model 6 number.
This operation went on for 4 years or so until it was all folded into Herter's in Waseca.

Is there a shade of gren commercial paint that is close to the original green? I also have a model 39 that the paint has mostly peeled off, it was green too. I have a replacement piece of polycarbonate tubing on the way for that one, then I'll be getting it up and running.

The Model 39 is a different animal. They are a light green if sold by Herter's as the sister measure the Model 40. It was also sold by Dunbar.
Very early Herter's tools were painted green that quickly changed to brown.
The Model 41 became the base for all Herter's powder measures.
