Lyman Blank Punch's

Got a few "pre-formed" Punch's from Keith (thanks again Keith) and put one on the lathe this evening to make a top punch for a 38 cal sizer. Turned it down to .357" and lightly took a file to the end result and it fits super within the H&I sizing die. I assume it's a easy project, cause I was able to accomplish a fantastic final product.
I only load flat nose cast and this was a great learning project.

Looks good to me. Using flat based bullets make top punches pretty simple, doesn't it?
Keith made some nice stuff. I should have bought 50 Star blanks, not 10.

Looks good to me. Keith gave me some of those too, when things calm down a little from the new baby I'm going to rectify my top punch shortage and pass on a few of the extras to some needing them.

Glad you guys are happy with things. I got out of making top punches, sizer nut wrenches, and other reloading stuff because of health and economics. I couldn't stand up to run a lathe for a long time and the shop couldn't make enough money when I had to pay an apprentice to do one-off jobs. We switched to making aircraft parts in lot sizes big enough to be economically produced and have stayed out of the reloading equipment business since.

That's going to change.

We now own a piece of industrially zoned land and will build a new shop with much more space to move into. Plans are to be operating in a new facility by January or February 2018. When that happens we have decided to get back into making most of the reloading stuff I used to make. (We also plan to broaden our product line into some other areas, no further comment on this right now.) My friends at our principal buyer (Flyboyaccessories.com) will host our URL (www.bigfoottech.tech - it's not up yet) so we will have a web presence to advertise and market our products.

I'm going to be very busy for the next few months, I'll try to post a few updates when I can.

Good luck Keith. Don't forget to take care of yourself too. You are gonna be a busy man.

A good machinist, who knows the product line's user's needs well (because he is a user, too) with a full machine shop......sounds like a recipe
for success. I'd be up for buying a number of Star and Lyman sizing die blanks, if that becomes a product. The outside work is perfect
for CNC and the interior drilling, reaming and polishing to a final, exact (and potentially oddball) ID is fine for the end user.

I am also going to buy one of your die retention nut wrenches for my RCBS Lubrisizer. The Lyman one is really nice to use.

Hope you make a bundle, sir.
